Our Story

Born and raised in San Diego, California, Bob Brazell's passion for photography began at a young age. He started his career in photography in 1960, at the age of 11, with a second-hand camera and an improvised basement darkroom. This early fascination with photography led him to study cinematography, which later influenced his work in broadcast television and special interest videos.

Bob's professional journey took a unique turn when he studied under the guidance of renowned commercial and industrial photographer W.F. Carter. This mentorship honed his skills in using artificial lighting and large format camera equipment, skills that would serve him well throughout his career.

In 1979, Bob Brazell Photography, Inc. was established, initially offering a broad range of services, from ads to weddings to portraits. However, since 1983, the company has specialized in commercial illustration and architectural photography. From his base in Crested Butte, Bob travels extensively across the country and the world to capture the essence of buildings, exteriors, and interiors for discerning commercial clients.
