Steven Mastroianni

As a Cleveland-based artist, photographer, educator, and curator, I have dedicated my career to blending traditional and contemporary photographic practices. With over three decades of experience, my work spans commercial portraiture, fine art photography, and darkroom-based film processes, rooted in a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art. My practice emphasizes collaboration with clients, whether through personalized portrait sessions or curating exhibitions that highlight regional artists. Formerly the owner of Silver Scuro Studio and Gallery, I have exhibited nationally and contributed to private and corporate collections, including Progressive Insurance and the Cleveland Clinic.

My approach prioritizes craftsmanship, from camera-less techniques to hand-processed silver gelatin prints, ensuring each project reflects both technical expertise and artistic vision. I also share my knowledge as an adjunct professor and guest lecturer at Cuyahoga Community College, fostering the next generation of photographers.
