Our Story

Janel Tackett, the heart and soul of Tulsa Newborn Photography, didn't set out to be a photographer. Armed with a degree in Business Marketing from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, she embarked on a career path assisting senior citizens in Broken Arrow. It wasn't until the arrival of her first son in 2015 that life took an unexpected and beautiful turn. A disappointing experience with an inexperienced newborn photographer sparked a passion within her. Determined to prevent other expectant mothers from encountering similar disappointment, Janel dove headfirst into the world of newborn photography.

Although she never envisioned herself as an artist, a profound love for children and a desire to capture their fleeting innocence fueled her creativity. The joy she finds in witnessing the awe and wonder on parents' faces when they see their newborn portraits for the first time is truly indescribable. That moment of connection, of shared emotion, is what drives Janel's dedication to her craft.
