Sarah Beck Photo Photos & Clay: Photography and Ceramic Art in Amsterdam, NY
Sarah Beck Photo is a visual artist specializing in photography and ceramic artistry. With over 15 years of professional photography experience, I have transitioned from wedding documentation to creating environmental portraits and headshots within 60 miles of Amsterdam, NY. My artistic practice combines traditional darkroom techniques with hand-built clay elements to craft unique visual narratives. I specialize in capturing stoic, documentary-style images that reflect authentic human experiences, including a notable series of socially distanced curbside portraits during the pandemic. My work extends to creating miniature darkroom prints framed in resin or clay, as well as wearable art jewelry featuring photographic elements.I participate in regional art markets like Albany's Twilight Market and maintain retail partnerships in Glens Falls and Little Falls, NY. My creative process often merges cameraless photogram techniques with conventional photography to produce distinctive mixed-media pieces. I offer commissioned photography services for artists and makers, focusing on working environments and professional portraits. My studio practice includes both silver halide film processing and hand-crafted ceramic objects like the popular white and black poster-mounted spoons.
